A closer look at some of my work in Video Games.


Project Scope

Designing NBA2K22’s GEN5 main menu navigation and flow. The menu needed to highlight the game’s “Seasons.” This means the screen must thematically change while still containing critical information.


My Contribution

I was the UI and UX director for the multiple screens that form the main menu. My task included:

  • Creating wire frames for the user experience / flow of the screens

  • Directing concept artists in the design of the menus and assets

  • Building the menus using Autodesk Maya and the game engine

Design Rationale

I wanted to highlight each main feature of the game (MyCareer, MyTeam, MyNBA, WNBA, 2KTV) while giving attention to the seasons. I steered the design towards containing more dynamic elements. The producers and game designers could change the color pallet of the menu as well as the hero image on the right side to suit whatever theme they needed to implement. Parts of the background would get colorized to match the theme while the content inside each tile button remained the same. The tiles would play a video highlighting the selected game feature.

Project Scope

This was a big redesign of the existing MyTeam Pack Market I had design a few years before. The challenge was to build something that felt new and more grounded in reality.

My Contribution

I was tasked with everything to do with this flow–Design, building, animating, scripting all assets and screens.


Design Rationale

Thematically, I went with something more grounded in reality. I designed the packs and boxes are real-world items you could open up and touch. The menu itself I built as a table that these items would be displayed on. For the background environment, I made it colorful and saturated to keep the spirit of the game mode.






Project Scope

To redesign 2KNBA's MyTeam mode in a way that was more dynamic and would allow for live updates. I was tasked with designing a user experience that was easy to navigate while at the same time, allowing game producers to add themes and shift elements around the UI at will.


My Contribution

  • Design menu navigation and flow

  • Help develop a style

  • Create dynamic assets

  • Art direct concept artists

  • Direct technical artists and contribute to the build art

Design Rationale

I came up with a design that at first glance, felt like a poster view of the current game season. The various sub-game categories were organized by tabs on the top and each menu could be accessed by scrolling down a list in each tab.
